Owner and Head Swim Instructor
Jennifer Stevens
Jennifer, affectionately known as Mrs. Jenn by the students, is one of our most experienced instructors. She is a BSL/CPR-certified Registered Nurse with over 18+ years of teaching experience. She has been teaching children with special needs for four years and earned an Adaptive Swimming training certificate in 2025. She specializes in working with young children and beginners and loves seeing her students progress. Jennifer is known for her patience, adaptability to each child's needs, and her desire to make learning to swim fun.
Senior Swim Instructor
Maya Stevens
Maya is a natural with kids and has a gift for making them feel comfortable in the water. Her background in competitive swimming and former swim instruction with other local programs allows her to be patient and ensure that each student gets the attention they need. Maya is also a CPR/First Aid and Water Safety certified swim coach. She loves to see her students excel and takes time to learn their strengths so she can teach in the way they learn best.
Swim Instructor and Lifeguard
Jon David "JD" Stevens
JD is a good and patient instructor and the children love him. He has been swimming competitively since he was 4 years old and is now on the Tuscaloosa County High Swim team. In the off-season from our summer lessons, he also teaches for PARA with Coach B. Jd is also a trained lifeguard, and is certified in CPR/First Aid and Water Safety. He loves to teach swimming lessons and has a deep commitment to fun while teaching safety in the water.
Web Manager, Former Instructor/Lifeguard
Elle Stevens
Elle currently serves as our Web Manager, ensuring our website is functional and engaging. Prior to assuming this position, she served as one of our Senior Swim Instructors and Head Lifeguard for many years. Elle graduated from the University of Alabama in December 2024. After which, she began working full-time at the Radiology Clinic, which meant that she had to step back from teaching swim lessons.
